Kosovo was an interesting place for us to visit because of its recent history. Kosovo was once a part of the nation Yugoslavia and some people today do not think it is an independent country. Its neighbor to the north, Serbia, thinks it is part of its own country. The two nations had a terrible war for many years and, even now, the relationship between the two countries is difficult.

We were impressed by the lively capital city of Pristina that, in many places, looks like a city in Western Europe. This is because of the foreigners who live there and have helped to rebuild the city after the war.

We enjoyed the World Heritage monasteries in the country, which were in beautiful places and very peaceful.
