NAMIBIA TRIP

Namibia is a very dry and large country in the southwest of Africa. Kyoko and I visited this country as part of a trip to a World Heritage national park on the southern border. This park is also partly in South Africa.

Namibia was once a German colony which still influences its culture. Many town and street names are written in German. German is also one of the main languages of the country, making it a popular vacation place for tourists from that country.

The land is mostly flat and it is very hot. The area along the coast has only a few small towns, mostly because of the lack of drinkable water. The most famous geographical feature of the country is the large Kalahari Desert. As the land is so flat, the mountains that appear in different places look very large and impressive.
