Our family visited the small island of Antigua, which together with the other island of Barbuda is a country. Most people visit Antigua, especially the main port town of St.Johns. A fun place for tourists is Nelson's Dockyards, on the south side of the island. This is where the British Navy was once stationed. We could see old buildings from the 1800s and imagine what life was like for the people who lived at that time. Around this bay were high hills, from where we could see a great view.
On one section of the island, there are old mango and banana trees. Long ago, many of the people of the island worked in the fruit fields.
On the west side of the island is a mountain named after the U.S. President. It is called Mount Obama because many people inthe Caribbean like the U.S. President.
